CLEAR COAT LIFTING -
INFERIOR REFINISHING

This concern is the result of refinishing at an autobody shop and inferior preparation of the base coat (color coat) before application of the clear coat.
The clear is detaching from the base coat around the antenna of the vehicle.  This concern may be evident on any area of a vehicle where there is trim such as moldings door handles, window trim, etc.

Repair of the concern requires correctly preparing the area by cleaning and sanding.  The antenna should be removed before starting the repair.  Then the base coat must be examined to insure correct film build and the clear re-applied.  The entire panel should be refinished rather than attempting a "spot repair" of the concern.
Attempting to hide the concern by wet sanding and buffing will only result in further damage to the paint film and result in a dissatisfied customer.
