RAP GUARD - PLASTIC TRANSIT FILM - EXCESS ADHESIVE RESIDUE

A. Many manufacturers are using this white plastic covering in place of synthetic or wax based shipping coatings.  The plastic becomes brittle with age (90 to 180 days) and becomes difficult to remove as it "shreds" while being pulled off. The remains must then be picked off individually resulting in an unacceptable removal time. Additionally there is excess adhesive residue left on the surface.

B. Spray or wipe New Car Prep on to the Rap Gard or Plastic Film and the painted surfaces. Allow to dwell (sit) for 3 to 5 minutes. Saturate a soft clean towel with New Car Prep and gently wipe away the Rap Gard / Plastic Film pieces and adhesive.

C. Wash vehicle with a solution of #C shampoo concentrate mixed 1 oz. per gallon of water.

NOTE: New Car Prep does not contain xylene, toluene nor benzene and will not harm painted trim, unlike other solvent based removers.
