The subject panel has been contaminated by both acid rain and ferrous oxides (rail dust/brake dust)

The terms commonly used for this condition are rail dust or brake dust, however, in reality, these minute oxide particles are generated by many sources. Metal producing plants, body shops, construction, coal burning electrical generating plants, in your own garage when you sharpen your lawn mower blade with a grinder, etc.
