SULFURIC DEPOSITS, ACID RAIN, FERROUS OXIDES

Vehicles are commonly parked or stored in industrial areas. As the surrounding industrial plants, trains, large trucks, ships, and generating plants emit exhaust from the fossil fuels used to power them the exhaust generated particles land on vehicles. While they are in a dry dioxide form at the time of emission, the particles on the vehicles are subjected to moisture. Water contains oxygen molecules and are oxidizers.

The water changes the dry oxides into acids which then enter into the porous paint film. Each time the vehicles paint is allowed to dry and then subjected to moisture, the acids concentrate and gain activity. This activity attacks the resin system of the paint much as battery acid attacks cotton clothing.

To make it simple, the acids "eat’ the paint apart.

Use of the ValuGard Neutralization Process is the recommended concern resolution.
