Ford Detailing and Pre-Delivery Service Tip - How To Make Your Towels Last Longer

* Avoid Bleach. Bleach breaks down the cotton fibers which begins the deterioration
  process.
Note that some detergents have bleach additives.

* Dry towels fully the first few washings. The loose lint will be caught in the lint trap.
Be sure to clean the lint trap before and after the dry cycle.

* Avoid washing old, deteriorating towels with new towels. The lint from the older
towels will hang on to the new towels.

* Make sure the water in your machine is free of lint, if you are using the water
   over again.

* Try using damp towels when wiping off cars. The dampness will keep the lint
   from coming off the towel.

* Consider using surgical towels for interior and exterior of windows. Be sure to
wash these separately from your Terry (exterior body) towels, and use them only
   for windows.

If you are in an area where water is "hard", consider a water softener or other water conditioning additives. High levels of acid and other minerals may contribute to the deterioration of towels. Always wash new towels before using. NEVER USE BLEACH! NEVER USE FABRIC SOFTENERS! Consider using distilled vinegar (1 cup per wash), this helps to break loose any way in the towels.

Remember to keep window towels separate from all others, especially in the wash.
