Occasionally dealers receive vehicles from the assembly plants
with a powdery white film on
the horizontal and vertical surfaces. This condition could be under or over the
Rapgard Transit
Coating. It may also be noticeable on exterior body parts, glass, and mirror
surfaces.
During pre-delivery technicians notice this concern while removing the Rapgard
transit
coating. Some areas of the vehicle were contaminated by the powdery film. This
concern
was most likely due to contaminated water in the water test facility were
vehicles are
checked for water leaks.
Reports indicate some technicians are using a lot of time and labor
unsuccessfully to remove
this film.
The repair for this issue is very simple and will leave a clean undamaged paint
film.
